Forgot our settlement, property full of hazardous rubbish, zero help after $1M+ sale

The vendor rated Monica 5 stars - of course they did. They got to dump all their rubbish and walk away without paying a cent for disposal. If I could leave my mess behind after a $1M+ sale, I’d give 5 stars too. However, as the buyer of this mess I’d give her less than a star if I could. We settled through Harcourts Torrensville with Monica as our agent. What followed has been deeply disappointing. Monica forgot our settlement date - she was at her niece’s wedding. We couldn’t access our $1M+ property because a key was missing. A locksmith had to be arranged. When we finally got in, the yard was dangerous and filled with the vendor’s abandoned rubbish - paint tins, tyres, gas cans, timber, broken glass, and furniture well beyond what was agreed, while the gardens were overrun. We’ve had to fence off sections to keep our kids and dog safe. We reached out for help. Monica called the left over junk “goodwill” and suggested we use our council hard waste collection to clean up someone else’s mess from a property we just paid over a million dollars for. Since then? Three days of emails to Monica and the principals. Complete silence. No calls, no visits, no promised settlement gift. Zero accountability once the commission was collected. We’re now dealing with safety hazards and cleanup costs on our own, with no support from the agency that facilitated this sale. This should have been an exciting milestone. Instead, it’s been nothing but disappointment and radio silence when we needed basic help.

Very smooth and well structured

Monica did a great job of selling my house. I selected Monica as she had maintained contact with me over many years, which indicated she was persistent. There were lots of opens, with regular updates and feedback on who was going through. The campaign was short and directed, with a successful auction to finish.
