Suzanne was extremely patient, extremely, whilst the decision to sell took well over a year. I would normally ‘interview’ agents but Suzanne was the right person for the property as soon as she saw it, she knew it would take the right buyer to fall in love with it just as we had. She advised us what we needed to do: to clear the property and get it ready for drone footage and viewing. Suzanne was in regular contact but with no pressure. Others may have given up. When it was put on the market we were happy at every stage. Suzanne worked hard to sell the property and had an instinct for the buyers. She went above and beyond - lighting the fire if we weren’t home and checking the flowers. It was a beautiful property but small with a lovely studio and workshop and plenty of potential for other uses. She found the buyers who felt an emotional connection to the property and got a fair price over the offer. Suzanne was always available to us, gave good reports back, had a realistic and down to earth approach that works well in country properties. I’d certainly recommend her as an agent who works for the buyer. She will tell you what is realistic but aim higher. She isn’t an agent who inflates the price to get the contract and is honest and professional in her dealings. She knew we needed to be 100% sure about selling an idyllic haven that had been lovingly restored after years of cattle with many 100s of native plantings and another 2,000 daffodils that complemented to already existing daffs that were there from the original homestead. Suzanne found buyers who will hopefully enjoy the beauty and add their touch to make it their own. The experience was a positive one rather than the stressful one we expected. It was sold within the 3 month contract at a time when prices were starting to come down. Someone once told me that I ‘interview’ my agents for the job of selling my properties. It’s very true. Finding an agent to sell what is after all, your biggest possession, should be a process where you sign up the right person. When my closest friend, Henry, was looking at selling his beautiful property at Koonya, I suggested we look for an Agent whom we both felt comfortable with. By chance the first person we met was Suzanne Hede and we were spared the need to speak with anyone else working in the area. Suzanne had a genuine warmth for the property. She wasn’t pushy but was down to earth about what we needed to do to make it very presentable. Being an acerage there were things that needed tidying before putting it up for sale. We started doing that and prepared to THINK about selling. This wasn’t quite as easy as it sounds as my friend had to be 100% sure he was ready to say goodbye to the property. Suzanne waited quietly until he got to that point - at least 6 months later. She was sensitive, respectful and kept in monthly touch with me, as requested, to see how that was going. I can’t stress how important this was as my friend got there very slowly. Finally we put the house on the market and from that time on Suzanne worked very hard to sell the property. It was a wrench to sell the property as we’d planted 300 natives each year for many years and it went from a churned up cow paddock to a paradise with a truly beautiful pond. Having only one bedroom made that harder but the right people fell in love with the property. It was always going to be an emotional sale. Suzanne secured a good, fair price especially given the market downturn and the ownership turned over, within 3 months, to someone else to enjoy. I would not hesitate to recommend Suzanne. She has integrity, drive and works hard for the vendor who is, after all, the person paying her. Suzanne made a stressful time as easy as it could be and was very respectful of individual needs.
