My experience as a Buyer, not yet all good- Unprofessional and uncooperative
I recently purchased a property through Shaun, and unfortunately, the experience was quite frustrating. Throughout the process, I encountered numerous unreasonable discussions, illogical responses, and unnecessary diversions from the core matters. The only reason I went ahead with the purchase was because I got the property for a good price — had it been $10K–$20K more, I would have walked away solely due to the poor experience with the agent.
At settlement, the property was not cleaned properly, despite this being agreed upon beforehand. When we raised our concerns, we received dismissive and unprofessional responses such as, "You bought the property as is, so you get it as is," or "The seller isn't paying well," and even, "Your standards are too high", "You arrange the cleaner I pay him. (1 day before settlement)." There were also leftover materials like oil, paint, and chemical waste in the shed. Despite multiple requests through our solicitor, cleaning receipts were never provided, and the waste was not removed.
Communication was also a major issue. Emails often went unanswered for days — in one instance, I had to wait nearly four days for a response during the exchange period, even after following up with phone calls. Not sure if the seller wasn't responding, but this is what it is.
Typically, in real estate, it's common courtesy to provide a small congratulatory gift after settlement to thank buyers and build future rapport. This agency didn’t bother with any such gesture — though given the experience, I wasn’t expecting one.
In summary, while I’m happy with the property itself, the purchasing process was far from smooth. I would think twice before dealing with this agency again.
