Unfortunately, due to the 12 consecutive interest rate rises, I needed to raise rent for my tenant who was currently paying 360 per week. I suggested increasing it to additional 100 per month but guidance from agent was to increase to 500 per week which is in line with the market. I followed their advice and 2 weeks after I received notice that my tenant of 5 years will be vacating. Since then, I have had to spend over 3k in getting new carpets, paints and also leasing fees. It took 3 weeks for it to be rented out and I had to do my own advertising in Facebook as the agent was not getting any success getting anyone through the door. We reduced the rental fee from 500 to 430 which was close to what I originally wanted to increase the price to. If I did not follow their advice, I would have had a happy renter still renting my place and I would not have had lost of 7k of rental income and labor costs and letting fees. Super disappointed with Chisholm and Gamon as their advice left me stressed and out of pocket of 7k!

I developed a mixed use block of apartments with a retail on ground floor nearly 10 years ago. Since that time the Chisolm * Gamon team, largely led by Samantha Richards has looked after my asset in a proactive and considered fashion.
