Experienced, realistic and keen.
Peter took time to listen to what we wanted - no fancy ideas, no outrageous proposals - just sell the house. We decided to trust him with the authority to show the property, answer the questions without us needing to lift a finger - or to even, be there. And he was true to his word - we did not have to worry about appointment times, keys, meetings - nothing.
In a ridiculous time - covid, interest rate rises, and uncertainty all around, prospective buyers just kept on coming and looking. Open days were busy, enquiries from websites and office listing were constant. It took a while to get to the endpoint, but that was not due to Peter's lack of knowledge or effort. He was positive and reassuring when the financial climate looked like it was totally against us, and, I'm pleased to say - he was right to remain calm and positive.
The house was not one of those amazing properties that would "just sell itself" - it had some characteristics that were not going to suit everyone, but Peter was realistic about everything - "It won't be right for everyone, but it will be ideal for someone," he said. And, he also said, "You only need one buyer." How true.
We were kept informed of potential buyers, open days, and updates of what was happening, and he was always there at the end of the phone or in the office, if he needed to be contacted.
All in all, I am more than happy to recommend Peter Heathcote to anyone who has a property to sell. His local knowledge and experience was a big part of it, and his easy-going yet professional personality helped too.
