Our first home buying journey was educational to say the least… and I think that if we hadn’t met Roland, we probably would still be renting. We tried to purchase several homes… and after being ignored, belittled and outright lied to by other agents, the list of agencies we were willing to purchase through was dwindling. We reached the realisation that when buying a home, it is best to trust your gut. So before we decided to place an offer on any property, we would speak to the agent about their selling process, and figure out if it was worth the stress. A number of homes we didn’t bother to attend open inspections purely as a result of who was showing them. So thank you Roland. Three weeks after we have moved in I am still amazed at how calm the transition was. We were very looked after. During negotiations I was particularly impressed at the level of communication Roland maintained without ever pestering us. He called when he said he would and kept us in the loop. Roland was respectful at every point of the journey and we were never made to feel as if we were being difficult when requesting building inspections etc. Roland was flexible with meeting times and helped us with what to expect along the way. On a more personal level, it was obvious to us that Roland had taken the time to get to know the vendor, her relationship with the home and what she needed with the sale. We almost felt as if we knew who we were buying from, which made it special. We were so impressed with Dave. Before contacting him we were stressing out and thinking the sale would be very complicated; not only because our property is in Newcastle, Australia and we are now located in France, but also because the tenants in the property were vacating it just weeks before Christmas, so it needed to go on the market at a time when most were celebrating or on holiday - and definitely not thinking about house-hunting, or so we thought. Dave calmly and confidently listened to our concerns and then took control of the situation. He was very honest with us, gave us some great advice and information and his communication with us was spot on. Not once did he try to railroad us into a decision we were unprepared to take. We were in awe of his knowledge of the area, the market and what we needed to do to play it to our advantage. We cannot think of a better recommendation than to give him our other property in Newcastle to sell and that is what we will be doing in a few weeks.

We liked Dave instantly on meeting him and our gut instinct proved correct. We found him to be reliable, informative, pragmatic and enthusiastic. He achieved an excellent price for our property which exceeded our expectations. Having said that - he's not a magician. If you're not willing to be realistic about your asking price and present your property as close as possible to his recommendation then you may be disappointed. We worked hard to get our property looking its best and we were quite prepared to accept a realistic offer.
