I had to sell our old home, which had been in my family for fifty-two years and was a place of many good experiences and a lot of happiness. I was reluctant to sell but for various reasons it was a necessary step. Other agents I approached told me the house would be sold to a developer and there was no point in dressing it up or making any effort to sell it, since it would be demolished. I disliked this approach. Stephen Thompson, on the other hand, took on board what I felt and said, "we will present the house as a family home", which I greatly appreciated. We worked on the garden and furnished the interior. When it went to market the house looked as my parents would have liked it to appear. Stephen was candid about conditions in the market which were not especially favourable; a lot of properties flooded the market in the same month. Stephen gave me and my brother and sister candid advice on the reserve and we sold the for what we felt was a very good price in the circumstances.
