At no time were we pressured into listing; as Julie said, “It’s a process” and not once did she attempt to influence our timeline. Our sale came quickly and it was then that Julie’s consideration for us as vendors and her considerable skills as a negotiator saw her guide the potential buyers to the best offer she could obtain, rather than to steer us towards the first acceptable offer. Again, Julie worked with us and for us; not just to sell the house and move on. Finally, during the contract stage of our sale, Julie again stepped in to assist when an unexpected problem arose late one Friday afternoon. Julie was excellent in all aspects of her role as an agent. She guided us well through a sales strategy but was also sympathetic to how nervous we were. Her advice around where to spend a small amount of money on marketing and styling paid off to the tune of $100k more than the market was saying we would get. She knew the local area well and was spot on with her advice.

We found our experience with Julie to be disappointing. Throughout the process, she consistently downplayed significant issues with the property, often describing them as minor and inexpensive to fix—statements and costs that seemed to be pulled from thin air. She was consistently speaking outside her area of expertise. With everything she had stated, later being contradicted by professional quotes. Once contracts were signed, rather than stepping back, she continued to involve herself unnecessarily, interfering with matters best left to the buyers, sellers, and their solicitors. This only served to complicate the process further. Communication was unclear and, at times, lacking. We were not even informed that our offer had even been accepted before she contacted us to try and negotiate items that would remain in the house. We felt this was premature and inappropriate. From a buyer’s point of view, I would not choose to work with Julie again.
