It is quite an experience to go through the process of selling one’s family home after living in it for around twenty years. You grow old with the property you once thought was beautiful and everything you wanted. I soon learnt that a lot of water had passed under the bridge and the people that were to purchase my house had a new slant on what was beautiful. If I wanted to present my house for sale then I had to conform. Both William and Jennifer were very tactful and helpful in opening my mind to this new world of real estate. I had at first listed with another agent and as things were not moving as I thought they should so I decided to try William and Jennifer Carr. They suggested that I should paint my house virtually all different shades of white and also toss out a lot of my treasured furniture to facilitate removing the so-called clutter. This went down like a lead balloon for me as I am of an older vintage. They recommended a painter that was an absolute gem and very meticulous with his work. I might add I had been badly let down by the first painter recommended by my initial choice of agent. Then because of the loss of time we had to meet a falling market. This was a very real test and I was extremely pleased with the vigor of my agents. Both Jennifer and William were positive and excellent in the way they advertised and presented my property. In the beginning I confess that I had some reservations about William simply because of his youth. However, William punches well above his weight and is a good negotiator, salesman and very knowledgeable. Both he and Jennifer went the extra mile and gave more than they had to. Consequently, we achieved a reasonable and acceptable result in what had become a very difficult market. Jenny was amazing at being upfront and honest with great advice along the way. That's what you want in an agent so that you know where you stand at all times. It made the process much less stressful knowing she was doing all she could as my agent to get the price I was after for my property. I did get a little tough on my price in the end and she stepped up and delivered! If I ever have another property to sell I'd definitely have Jenny as my agent. While Jenny was the lead agent, a lot of credit needs to go to Will for achieving a great result. Will is a highly committed professional with high attention to detail. Not a paint colour out of tone and not a signage out of place. He is really on top of his game - very organised, efficient and a great communicator. We must have traded over 100 calls during the entire process and nothing was ever too much trouble. He recommended and managed all the trades during the pre-sale process and worked tirelessly to get everything done on time and to a high standard. Will has a great personality and people warm to him - a crucial factor in selecting the person that opens your front door at the open homes.
