Charming Agent without the Pushy Sales Technique
On Saturday we had just missed out on a great house...to a property developer with much deeper pockets.
The Sunday was spent scouring properties in our pice range and by Monday we had two viewings. The first was an overpriced house by an estate agent who resonated an attitude that it was beneath him to have to facilitate the viewing for us (Peter James Realty if your asking).
The second was David at Newton Real Estate...the experience could not have been more different.
He was friendly, not pushy, polite, interested and asked questions that allowed him to get the best idea of what we were looking for and find the best fit. David is incredibly astute and intuitive in gauging the personality of his clients. This was demonstrated by the fact the first place we looked at, we said yes to within minutes of leaving the house.
He had commented a number of times that we were very similar to the current owners and would probably get on very well with (which we did), he knew what mattered to us in a property and he knew it was important for the sellers that the potential buyers loved their home.
David guided two complete novices through the purchasing process and spent some considerable time (nearly 3 hours) going through the building report and translating everything into lay mans terms for us. He continues to support us with everything from builder recommendations to how we can fix details from the building report.
If you want to lower the stress and dramas involved in house hunting, then I cannot recommend David highly enough.
My suggestion...meet with him for 20 minutes over a cup of coffee and let him know what you are looking for, in this time he's already getting an idea of more than just your tick list.
He's so far removed from a pushy salesman after the next commission, it's clear that he is keen to develop a lasting relationship.
