I purchased my home through Raine and Horne and had a positive experience when I rented it out for the first time. It’s genuinely upsetting for me to write this review. Unfortunately, the quality of service has declined dramatically, leaving me unable to give even a two-star rating. Since my agent (Jack) took over, I’ve experienced nothing but stress. Before renting, there were issues with water bill confusion and poor communication regarding advertisement dates. It was promised that the property would be advertised three weeks in advance, but that did not happen. I was also advised to list my home at a higher price, which failed to attract any interest. Since a six-month rental duration isn’t ideal, timely advertising was essential. As a result of trusting the agents words and his professional knowledge on the market (Again, these weren't words coming from me at all), my home wasn’t rented on the intended date, causing me to lose three weeks' worth of rental income ($2.2k). I requested a waiver for the letting fee, but they only agreed to refund 50%. While I understand there are costs involved, this process has been extremely stressful for me. When I rented out my home previously, I paid the letting fee without any complaints because everything was handled well. But this time, it was an experience that shouldn't have happened. Also, the company's attitude towards the situation is not okay especially for the fact that false promises and information was delivered. Additionally, when the property was finally rented, I faced further issues, including unauthorized strata payments, which added to my stress. I hope this feedback can help home owners or buyers decide on a better real estate agent.
