As I was living in a different state I was shown pictures of the property. It seemed like it was quite a nice place to live so I signed the lease. Once I picked up the keys and checked out the property I was disgusted by the smell of cat urine and the general state of the property. The ad also said that the property was child friendly. Which it was not as there where multiple hazards and problems that could put my small children in danger. When I brought up the standard with the real estate their reply was it wasn't so bad and they could look at getting some things fixed up in the new year some time. I feel like this is a massive breach of contract and I have tried to break lease. And will be contacting the office of fair trading about negligence and misleading advertisement.

This is our first investment property so we were overwhelmed with online information about renting out property.
