Jacqui Walker acted unethically. I had already made an offer on the house, but the night before the final decision, she called me and said that if I wanted to secure the property, I would need to increase my offer. We are not very familiar with Australian processes, having lived here for only five years, and English is not our first language. When I asked her for an amount, she provided a range of figures. Unfortunately, my father, who was less experienced, ended up offering the highest amount within that range. As a result, we paid $85,000 more than the listed price. I’ve also spoken to friends who have had similar experiences with her, suggesting she may be using this tactic with other buyers as well.
