Pushy, no follow up and overall poor experience.
There is a reason why he has so many sales under his belt. Although our house got an offer within a few days of listing, it wasn't the offer we were after. Elton knew our lowest amount and the amount we wanted from the get go but we felt he was pushing us by to accept this first offer. He kept showing us houses in the area that he had sold and that it was a good price. We had done our research and we told him that if we did not get the price we wanted we would keep the house as a rental. We are so glad we said no to the original offer as we then got a $9G higher offer. We still wanted to have an open house though to see who else may be interested considering it had only been listed a few days. Elton seemed annoyed and inconvenienced by this. We had the open and there was interest but no other offers. We then accepted the $9G higher offer as we needed to sell due to relocation. It was $5G below what we were after though but happy overall considering the market. However, to my annoyance my neighbour told me a few weeks later that during the open house Elton was on his phone the whole time out the front and he did not show anyone around or even give out a brochure. I wonder if we would have got any offers if he was a little more active. I was also a little annoyed that after we accepted the offer we didn't hear from Elton again. No follow up or any communication whatsoever. His partner Derek phoned to say congratulations and ask for feedback which I thought was very professional and courteous. Shame we can't say the same about Elton. As he is the owner/manager of Starr Partners perhaps he is too busy to sell houses as well?? Give Derek a promotion. He picks up the pieces and was a fantastic agent to deal with.
