I am Vanessa’s client as a buyer so this review is from that perspective. Vanessa is quick to respond, but lacks genuineness to assist, and has an aggressive selling style. Reasons as follows. During inspection: understandably busy with people asking many questions - she answered them in a general dismissive way, not seeking to elaborate or try to understand the concerns behind the questions. Air con was listed in the ad, but in reality was not. This could be an honest mistake but when asked about it, her attitude was offhand, simply said you can install it for a few thousand dollars. After consulting a couple AC installers, it is clear this unit poses challenges for installing AC - I think the agent should have been aware, and the mistake was not corrected on the website after being raised. Similarly intercom was listed in the ad but she did not mention the somewhat inconvenient arrangement where visitors cannot be easily buzzed in. I learned about it when inspecting another unit in the building from an agent who did inform the clients. Making the offer: Vanessa was pushy for me to sign the contract straight away. Though unadvisable, I did so before my solicitor reviewed it because a week earlier she had verbally accepted my offer but then sold to someone else before my solicitor finished reviewing the contract. I do thank Vanessa for calling to let me offer again after that person withdrew (probably because my offer was the next highest). Cooling off period: A few days after signing the contract, I saw the unit was still listed for open inspection for the next 3 weeks. This is unfair. My holding deposit indicates that I am a serious buyer. To keep inspections open suggests that SP is not dealing with me seriously. When I asked Vanessa about it and said that I could bring it up with Fair Trading, she sent a blunt reply and proceeded with the inspection. I did not want to complicate the process so didn’t raise the issue further. After my 10% deposit, all OK
