Buying over Christmas is a stressful time but, my experience was even more stressful due to lenders difficulties. The seller was eager for answers, this is when the communication was constant, until I signed a finance waiver. Days before settlement I was asked by a family member about my building inspection, I then realised it wasn't done. I contacted Craig & was told he thought about messaging me but, thought I was 'laid back' and didn't care. I believe was not the right response nor professional assumption. My settlement agent told me it was up to him to discuss the building inspection but, Craig pointed the finger back at her as I wasn't his client. Instead of taking any responsibility they pointed blame, which I find extremely disheartening neither 'professionals' attempted to support me to the fullest of their abilities. Then booked my final inspection, I was told to quickly come down before the brother was home from holidays so he didn't get disgruntled (house sold due unfortunate circumstances). At the time of purchase I didn't know the brother lived next door. I feel this information disclosed in a poor manner. I felt unfair pressure & left me feeling uneasy. It's my first home, I didn't have knowledge on the process, I was extremely stressed about finance, so the inspections slipped my mind. A simple message would've sufficed but, this was only a thought from Craig & never actioned. Once I signed the waiver the job was done as it seemed. As a professional in his field, I don't believe this reflected during my experience or that the right thing was done by me. When receiving my keys I was told 'normally we give you a bottle of bubbly but, I didn't want it sitting in my car all day' (he chose to met in-between home opens, rather than the evening before). This really upset me, my first home was not worth the effort to swing by a bottle shop before meeting me. He was approachable and easy to talk to however, this was unfortunately tainted due to reasons above.
