We live offshore so we were a bit nervous about how we could reliably find a good agent to sell our properties. Our previous management agents had let us down badly so we were looking for someone more competent. After browsing through the various agent review sites we settled on Karl Latham at Twomey Schriber - the reviews were excellent. My wife thought we should also look at a couple of other agents before deciding but after one call with Karl we were “sold” so to speak. His professionalism in preparing a walkthrough of the property and explaining the pros and cons of selling with more or less investment was really helpful and highly credible. We appreciated his honest appraisal of one of our properties which needed a lot of investment which wasn’t practical for us being offshore and would not have produced a commensurate return. His advice was invaluable and he was able to find a private buyer who had the resources and motivation to invest in the house. Initially we were going to sell only that one property but circumstances changed so we decided to sell our second property as well. The second one was very well located and Karl recommended going to auction and to spend a minimum amount to get the property ready for sale. We personally attended the auction and were extremely impressed with how Karl and the auctioneer went about the process. Initially the bidding was quite slow and the price level disappointing but after a chat with them they went to work and were able to get to our reserve. We were very pleased with the outcome. I should also commend the entire team at Twomey Schriber - they were always responsive and backed each other up to ensure we were always well informed. We highly recommend Karl and the team.
