Alex immediately struck us as a humble, unassuming, likeable and funny guy who took a supportive and persuasive approach without being at all pushy. 3 top reasons we close Alex: a) he works in a team with Domenic Maxwell and Caitlin McGill. He's upfront that with 3 on the job (pay for 1, get 3) they can do more. Dom in particular is a huge asset. He cold called 100+ buyers to ensure our first Saturday had a huge turnout. His follow up calls and reporting on buyer interest was absolutely outstanding. A giant open house needs 3 people on the job too to answer questions, get contact details etc! b) Alex had a clear and convincing strategy. He is insightful into the market and knows the evidence that supports his recommended approach. We trusted his judgement and it paid off - over 150 groups visited our home, 50+ contracts were issued, 120 people at auction, 24 bidders and went 30% higher than our expected price. c) We felt comfortable with him. I'm a bit of a cynic but my read was that he was a genuine and upfront guy. A very successful agent but with a humble approach, not ego driven and with a clear mind. This instinct proved right in all our dealings with Alex and also with Dom. Not sharks, more the kind of good guys you'd invite to your BBQ. Our decision was a great choice. We got a price at auction way beyond our expectations. We loved the "friendly auction" approach that every bidder was supported in a very caring way through what can be a stressful process. my biggest tip - just follow instructions. Alex said: - list quickly (we got it market ready in 11 days!), -style well (this paid itself off at least 20 times over we think), -don't skimp on advertising (online ads and great photos made the campaign) & -make the effort to present it immaculately (even while doing this with 3 little kids!). We cannot recommend the dream team of Alex, Dom and Caitlin highly enough!
Alex and his team were professional from the outset. They set me at ease and made the whole process very easy. I was concerned about communication as I live interstate but this was handled really well with Alex, Dom or Caitlin keeping me up to date or sorting our little issues quickly and efficiently throughout. Alex has great communication & persuasive skill. I would not give the listing to Alex if it wasn't because of a good sell nearby. However , it turned out good sell was actually case by case and had nothing to do with agent. I clearly had a target selling price but was told not to put down on writing (and I realized later on why but it was too late). If from the day 1, I was told the price could not meet I would not put the house on the market through McGrath. Market campaign is just waste of money and honestly has no value (as I used a low cost mkt strategy and got higher offer although I did not take it). It only helps to promo McGrath brand at the cost of owner. And some terms are very unfair to the owner. From cost effective point of view, I would rate zero if there were such an option. The final result was quite disappointing but at least Alex tried the best he could. I would not sell the house if I had not committed somewhere else. Regardless the disappointing result I have to say Alex and his team have done a great job in terms of keeping owner well informed of the mkt and feedback from buyers. Conclusion: McGrath is an over-priced agent and not necessarily brings good outcome to the owner. Do not expect too much if you choose to use McGrath. I would not use McGrath to be my selling agent from now on. Suggestion: please separate agent to 1. Selling Agent company (eg McGrath) and 2. Selling personal agent (eg Alex Mintorn). It'll help to rate better and comment can be more specific.

We designed and built a beautiful home that ticked nearly all the boxes but you still need a very good strategy and skill as an agent to achieve a result well above market expectations. Being the sixth property Alex has handled for us, I must say I am completely pleased with every thing he has done for us as an Professional Agent.
