Andy was given a difficult brief: to sell an architect designed house in Ballarat. The difficulty was that the house was designed for two near retirement professionals. This meant that it was not attractive to young families, nor to older folk with arthritic joints. I thought that the fact that the house was only 13 years old, in the centre of town, state of the art as far as open space living, electronics and environmental concerns, and very sensitive to heritage precinct considerations, would outweigh these negative aspects. Andy was patient with me, and we arrived at a sale price significantly lower than I expected considering the price of building the house in 2004, and the value of the land which would have doubled over those years. Even so, it was more than Andy would have arrived at, but he went to work and tried to get a buyer. As the months went buy he suggested two major reductions in price, which we accepted. When the house finally sold, we had really tested the market, but that was the market. It had taken many months to discover this and to re-assure me that that was all we would be getting. But we had had 13 great years at our Talbot St N house. Andy was persistent, patient, communicative and positive through those months. I would be happy recommending him to any other seller.
