I had a horrible experience in purchasing this house. I was the highest bidder at auction 1.51mil (against only one other bidder). The house was passed in and I was asked to make another offer. My mistake was to immediately offer my maximum budget which was 1.55. This was not enough as Arthur told me the reserve price was 1.7 to persuade me to offer more. Looking at market research for a 2 bedroom with those specifications, it is unjustifiable that the reserve would be that high and I strongly suspect the figure was fabricated and shown to me on paper as a manipulation tool. The processes were not explained to me. I was not advised that I could take time to think about the option. Instead it was just constant pressure from Arthur. Throughout the negotiation discussions, I was obviously upset and crying and not in any capacity to think clearly, particularly with my 3 year old son also demanding my attention. I felt emotionally manipulated and absolutely fleeced after paying 1.56. This is the first house that I have purchased for myself and what should have been a happy day has now left a lasting bitter taste, to the point where I do not wish to live there any longer and I am discussing options with my lawyer. I understand business is business but there are ethical and moral values to abide by in life. Sometimes you also need to consider the emotional scars you leave on others with your actions. Particularly on those that are already in a  vulnerable state.
