On the day of settlement, it came to my attention that the previous homeowner failed to provide all the keys and left an excessive amount of garbage in the house. While I acknowledge that the contract allows for certain imperfections, it is disappointing that the property was not presented in a reasonably clean state, considering the key exchange is a pivotal aspect of the settlement process. What is particularly disheartening is the lack of involvement and assistance provided by you, as our agent, in ensuring the property was handed over appropriately. Rather than facilitating communication between the buyer and seller to address these issues promptly, you advocated for our acceptance of an incomplete and substandard handover, suggesting that the previous owner could rectify the situation the following day. The absence of consultation with us, the buyers, on this matter, is concerning. A transaction of this nature involves significant financial and emotional investment, and it is reasonable to expect a higher level of service in navigating challenges such as those we encountered on the settlement day. I believe that as the agent, your role extends beyond merely acting as a liaison between the buyer and seller. It encompasses ensuring a fair and satisfactory transaction for both parties. In this instance, it appears that the balance was skewed in favor of the seller, with little consideration given to the buyer's concerns and rights.
