A credible and straight-forward agent
My opinion of Bob and the Greg Hocking agency. It’s solely my own opinion and also broaches the considerable decision process required in selling property. I hope it helps you. I’d looked at Greg Hocking and others – I needed to choose the agent that I felt would work in my best interests. This latter point is somewhat mute – as agents are in business for themselves – plainly speaking – and so, whilst they work for you the vendor, they need to corral buying support and interest in line with vendor expectations whilst keeping the buyer on-line for future business if necessary. I thought that Bob would best represent me as the vendor – with a straight-forward / no bull approach. Basically “what you see is what you get” – a keen focused agent who aims to provide the best outcome. That being said, the sale / purchase process is somewhat random … and whilst there is a cut-off (viz the auction) to garner active bidding from buyers – it really is a bit “hit ‘n miss”. Yes, we all dream of that auction where there are 4 or more bidders that have a similar (read high) propensity to acquire your property “gem”. Other agents I spoke to either were a little more along the line of “working the seller” or a just a little lackadaisical about selling your property … both understandable but not really acceptable. As a vendor, I would urge prospective sellers to have their strategy firmly in mind in the week leading up to the auction and not be swayed by unreasonable expectations – on both buy and sell sides. Be realistic. in a nutshell, a realistic seller together with a keen focused agent should provide you with a good outcome. And Bob D will fit right in here. The question of whether I would use Bob D again … is answered wholeheartedly in the affirmative. Star rating 4.5 of 5 … but only because I did not hold out to get my “optimum” price.
