Calvin was born and raised in Durban, South Africa, and migrated to Australia in October 1999, settling in Brisbane. He spent the first few years in Australia working again in transport and logistics.
In 2006 he made the decision to further undertake tertiary studies; and completed a Bachelor of Science: Environmental Health in 2008. Whilst undertaking his degree, Calvin met the love of his life, and together they now have two beautiful daughters.
His career in Environmental Health commenced in 2008 and he secured his first leadership role in 2010; working his way to a managerial position over the next few years, gaining invaluable experience working in Queensland and Tasmania.
His family settled in beautiful Hervey Bay in 2018 and have come to love everything that comes with living in our piece of paradise that is the Fraser Coast. You will often see the family enjoying our great outdoors or dining in one of our fantastic restaurants or cafes.
His transition to real estate was an obvious next step for Calvin being a long-held area of interest of his; and an area would benefit from the skills he gained, working in the private and public sectors, over the past 30-odd years of his working career.
Calvin was fortunate enough to commence his real estate career with a leading real estate agency in Hervey Bay which provided him with invaluable experience in the real estate industry and cemented his love for the industry. In 2023, Calvin made the decision to open his own real estate agency in Hervey Bay and his focus is on the Hervey Bay and Maryborough markets.
Simply Real Estate Fraser Coast partnered with eXp Australia, a subsidiary of eXp Realty, a global partner that has more than 89,000 real estate agents across more than 20 countries across the world. This partnership allows Calvin to provide his clients with world leading real estate solutions while still being able to operate as a small, locally owned agency.
In addition to real estate, Calvin’s biggest passion in life would have to be his family. He is married and has two beautiful daughters, and his mum-in-law complements the family to make their home a special place where friends and family love to gather.
Calvin recognises that his house is a home because of the people. Those who live in it, and those that love to visit. This has translated into his business slogan “Where a house makes a sale, people make a home.”
He understands that when selling a client’s home, it’s important to find a buyer that has an emotional connection with the property because buyers want more than just a house to come home to, they want a home; a sanctuary to go to after a hard day’s work, a place of belonging.
