My husband and I had been looking to purchase a beach house for a few months when my husband came across a house for sale in Malua Bay. We were heading off to Queensland on the day of the first open house, but decided we would make the three hour detour to attend the viewing. Arriving at the house, we were amongst a number of other people who were there to view it, and I remember being anxious due to the amount of people; in fact, I remember almost became possessive of the house before I even walked up the front stairs!! Christine was there to greet us - she was friendly and engaging from the get go, and as we were very interested in this little gem, we hung around and asked a number of questions, to which she had all the answers. We found Christine to be open, honest and genuine. She advised us that the house was on a flood plain (hence the plan of the house), however she stated that it rarely flooded, and, when it did, the only thing one had to do, was move cars to a higher point. We basically fell in love with the house and made an offer on the spot - Christine said she would take it back to the vendors. After some tooing and froing, we had an offer accepted and we were quick to deposit our 10%. Christine was prompt in getting back to us, and extremely down to earth. We then exchanged and Christine took a photo of the sold sign in the front of the house and messaged it to us - so very thoughtful. Then, a few days later we received a parcel in the post - it was a box in the shape of a letter box which was full of goodies and a bottle of champagne - what a fabulous surprise!! I have had dealings with many real estate agents over the years, and, to be honest, I've had some fairly dodgy experiences with some of them. But, not Christine - she was awesome, and she has certainly raised the benchmark for any real estate purchases in the future.
