My purchase was quite an emotional one and, despite being in an ideal position for purchase with cash - I wasn’t in an ideal bargaining position. That is my fault but I should never have agreed to taking the property ‘as is’. This is something I don’t believe an agent should suggest - unless the property is to be demolished. I had faith the property would be left as I would have left mine - with pride. However, it was not. It required a professional clean - which cost me $200. Also the gas HWS needed replacement, so I’m relieved I pursued the penalty for late settlement (having been delayed twice) as that covered some of the costs which wouldn’t have been incurred has I not consented to accepting the property ‘as is’. I understand the agent looked after his client’s wishes, but as a purchaser who paid an excellent price, to my detriment - I wouldn’t recommend Daniel to a purchasee. It was an easy sale for him and his clients, but for me as purchaser, disappointing.
