Darren Hood
My interaction with Darren was brief. I purchased one of Darren's listed houses on a 28 day contract while he was on holiday overseas. He did, however, manage the open for inspection and contract signing activities. The vendor and her family were either disorganised or unreliable and consequently there were last minute hiccups. My agency contact was ultimately an administrative assistant who was nice enough, but could not appear to get any response from the Vendor or her family. The issue (whilst minor) could have resulted in legal action, had I not found a way to mitigate potential losses. I'm not sure what to make of the matter, except that the Vendor's daughter called me repeatedly in the early days of conveyancing, strongly stating her personal relationship with staff at the estate agency. She later appeared to turn a bit nutty. She talked a lot about numerous things, and I'm not convinced that much of what she said was even true. At the end of the day, the most important thing is that I got a very good house for a very good price. In a nutshell, I think the agent and agency were good. Both Darren and Sally (the administrator) were very pleasant to deal with. I would recommend, however, that care be taken in the future, as to how much trust is placed on 'friends' during any business transaction.
