Ask David Gaskin what makes a great Real Estate Agent and he will tell you it’s much more than just making a sale. “Apart from integrity and honesty, it’s all about the experience,” says David. “Anyone can give the spiel but it’s about building relationships with people and making sure they don’t feel like just another number.” A true local, David has lived in Woombye since he was just seven years old and knows the area like the back of his hand. With 25 years of retail experience under his belt including running a family business for many years, David’s love of people and his ability to build a great rapport with his clients is at the heart of why he chose a career in Real Estate. David also brings his own property experience in buying, selling and renovating to the team. Well known among his peers as an affable and enthusiastic character, he is passionate about good old-fashioned customer service and goes well above and beyond to ensure his clients receive top class service each and every time. “I try to take the stress away as much as possible,” says David. “Sometimes that might mean mowing the lawn or picking up the palm fronds at the property, but that’s all part of being a great Agent and getting the best results.” While it’s no secret that buying or selling a property can be a highly emotional time for some people, David says recognising and respecting these emotions is the key to a great client relationship built on genuine care and trust. “It’s probably the biggest purchase they will ever make and there are lots of emotions…. they might be selling their long-term family home where they raised their children and have a lifetime of memories.” But it’s the smiles on the faces of happy customers that gives David his greatest job satisfaction. “Seeing excited buyers move into their new home and the kids jumping into the pool before Mum and Dad even walk through the home, or a Vendor who is moving onto new opportunities, that’s what makes it all worthwhile,” says David. When he is not looking after his clients, you’ll find the father of two on the soccer field as a Coach with the mighty Woombye Snakes or enjoying family time with his teenage children.

Works for the buyer not the seller

The first red flag was minutes after signing the contract to sell our house. He says ‘ if it’s not working out he won’t hold me to the contract, we can go our separate ways’. What, sounds like this happens to him a lot. I should have ended it then. Brought an offer several hundreds of thousands of dollars below what he and other agents had valued the property at. Told me it was a starting point, then tried to crawl up in mear 10s of thousands from there. No thanks. I was so disgusted, I hung up on him. If he hadn’t then come back with an offer in the ball park, he would have seen the door. We really started to think he was related to the buyer. Even left me a creepy voice mail to say he was awake and could not sleep thinking I had the wrong idea about the buyer and rabbited on about how wondering she was. You think, she and him tried their hardest to get me to sell several hundreds of thousands below what it eventually went for. Lots of lies then proceeded, for example. Told me the buyer could not make inspection time because she was working. When I replied that he had told me she didn’t work, he came back with ‘oh sorry, my mistake, she is packing’. I have brought and sold eight properties so far and none of the agents I have used in the past have been a problem. In the past I have never felt that my agent was trying to screw me over like this guy tried to.

Awesome Job

Fantastic purchase experience

Best agent on the coast

Few and far between

I generally despise sales agents so for me actually enjoy dealing with one is rare. David skips 99% of the unnecessary sales spin that no one believes anyway and generally just turns people away. He lets a sale build and proceed naturally. He’s a skilled that I trust and recommend.
