Though Dean was courteous I did feel that he was somewhat disinterested. Buying a house is a very big decision and bigger than selling a house. I've done both previously. In this case I was selling my dad's (even though my sister's had the responsibility of negotiations because they were nominated as Executors - by my dad and me) and I was also buying the same house. I did havve input on both sides. I was buying the house even if it had not been contracted to an agent - at a fair selling price of course. It seemed that once Dean had the contract that my interest in buying my dad's home was of less value. I did finally buy the house and I'm happy with my decision but would have liked a little more input from Dean or a little more compassion regarding the circumstances. I'm not sure. I guess that's sales!

Our house was listed with another agent. The only time we ever saw or heard from that agent was when we signed a contract with him. After 4 months on market, we'd had no offers or interest. In fact, the only interest we had was from Dean! Dean rang us several times over the 4 months our house was listed with the other agent. He was always polite and never pushy or trying to peddle a sales pitch. He simply wanted to know how the sales process was going for us and of the dozens of agents in our area, he was the only one who continued to follow up with us over the course of our campaign. After our contract with our agent expired and we'd had no offers, we decided to give Dean a call. We signed a new contract with him and within the first few weeks, we'd had more inspections from Dean's contacts that we'd seen in 4 months with the other agent. Our property was a difficult, drawn out sale but Dean never wavered and remained enthusiastic and focused from start to finish.
