As so many stories begin about living in Cairns, Derek’s is not so different. 25 years ago, Derek and his young family visited on holiday from the UK, where he owned his own business, and fell in love with everything Cairns had to offer. Shortly after, Derek sold the business in the UK and settled in Cairns permanently. Paul Stirling rented Derek and his family their first property 20 years ago. Having demonstrated the importance of handling a trusted brand and maintaining great relationships with clients, Derek decided to make the move to Ray White, with Paul as Principal. In the past 20 years, the variety of styles of property that allow families and individuals to choose how they live is one of the main reasons Derek was attracted to the real estate industry. Having both personally and professionally bought and sold properties, and forged friendships with many clients along the way, the real estate industry has continued to be Derek’s main focus.
