We chose to go with Dilshan and Madhawa after our initial meeting as they had implied that communication would be excellent. However, the only communication that was initiated by my self was the weekly automated report they forwarded each Monday. Our house was on the market for an excruciating 10 weeks before we were even made a half decent offer. During those 10 weeks I would have to call the agents to find out what was happening, there was no communication from them. And then every weekend we would be starting from scratch with 2 opens. They convinced us to drop the price so that we could appear to have more interest for those buyers who were stalling to make an offer. We ended up having to accept an offer much lower than we were enthusiastically told that we would get. We understand it is a terrible time to sell, however we did not feel that our property was being prioritised or that any effort was being put into selling it. We have since been told by a number of other agents that these agents may not have been in a rush as photos of our house on their website were a convenient marketing strategy for them. We were also very dismayed when we didn't even get a 'congratulations' or 'thank you for your business' when we did accept an offer. Dilshan and Madhawa got a $24,000 commission for the sale of our house and didn't even say 'thank you for your business' even after settlement. The icing on the cake was the 24 hours notice for the buyer to be allowed to walk through the property the week before we moved. This was the first we had heard of it and the buyer stayed for an hour and invited friends and family to walk through. Our belongings were everywhere as we were moving interstate and it felt incredibly invasive. We should have been told earlier and the buyers should have been given strict guidelines on the legal requirements of the walk through.
