I was worried about trying to sell my late father's house - as a deceased estate that had long been unoccupied, it was definitely lacking in presentation. The garden was badly overgrown with rampant bamboo, electricity and water had been disconnected, and the home was basically serving just as storage for goods long forgotten. Douglas had sold the neighbour's house a couple of years ago, so as executor of the estate I contacted him for an opinion as to how to market my father's place and what it might be worth. I had intended to seek appraisals from several other agents in the area, but within 10 minutes of chatting to Douglas on-site I realised that wouldn't be necessary. He knew what he was talking about (having sold many houses in the same street) and didn't beat about the bush concerning the attributes and drawbacks of the property.
