I met Gareth Apswoude via Robert, who was recommended by Tom Fullop from Ray White Oakleigh. Gareth was managing the inspections & sale, and Robert did the calling. My property was unusual - 40 YO, 11 sq single storey brick-veneer (3 BR, 1 BAT) on a largish land (approx. 400 sqm) in a secluded, quiet location, close to all amenities. It would appeal mostly to young families with kids, or people who were downsizing, or to investors. In the end we achieved a satisfying result, I am happy with the sell price. Despite the nervous and testing lead to the auction, I really enjoyed working with Gareth on all the specifics. He has a very good understanding of the marked in this area, and maintains wide connections and client base. His approach is systematic, rational, calculative and supported by evidence. Sometimes I was surprised that everything rolled-on as planned/expected without any surprises. I was kept in the loop at all times, and I always had a feeling that Gareth was MY advocate, not the BUYERS' one. My impression is that Gareth works 24/7, canvassing and seeking potential clients, keeping the momentum going, while periodically discussing the options/findings with me. Our discussions were always down-to-earth, short and informative. He's got a pleasant, easy-going, personality which doesn't interfere with his desire to get the best result. In the end, in short 4 weeks, he managed to get approx. 60 parties through the inspections (a number of them returned for subsequent inspections), and the auction was well attended, with 5-8 keen bidders. The bidding quickly reached the reserve price, and the property was sold within 20 minutes. I am sure that such a good result is - in a very large part - a testimony to Gareth's skills, commitment, and dedication to get the best in any situation. I can not recommend Gareth, or the crew at Ray White Oakleigh, with enough zeal and positive gratitude. I purchased my first house with them, sold it with them, rented off them and have now purchased my second house off them. Great customer service, they never seem to sleep and have brilliant negotiating skills. They care about their customers and treat you with the respectful gravity you deserve, understanding how important a house purchase or sale is. I admire their work ethic and service and will be unlikely to ever use another Real Estate agency again.
