We have a five acre property, sloping , facing west, heavily timbered with coastal dry forest. A horse paddock & dam, stable and yard, very large machinery shedding and a very nice but small (by todays standards) house. In all this place has a lot to offer. But only if it is presented correctly to the right buyers. We interviewed three lead agents. The first after being shown around said; house and five acres in this area X amount. The second turned up two hours late, had no idea what she was looking at, and offered up her last job was working in a fruit shop. The third, explained to us in a loud voice as he stood over me (I'm a short bloke) that, "old people really annoyed him as they all thought their property's were special or something." After this pearl I was getting discouraged. Our oldest daughter; corporate job, well travelled suggested Gavin. At the very least he's punctual and has old school manners. Gavin and I have become friends. He also sold our property for an acceptable price Gavin demonstrates a youthful infectious enthusiasm rarely seen these days. Obviously from a good family. Open face, big smile, firm handshake. He understands marketing and presentation. He understands selling is like docking a large boat. There is time to power on and a time to hit neutral, and let everything just fall in place. Perhaps the fact that he obviously enjoys selling houses is his greatest asset.
