I don’t generally like leaving negative reviews however i thought I better leave one in this case as I felt it was only fair to share my genuine experience. Despite seeing a number of positive reviews, I have to say my experience with Gemma Coady was immensely disappointing. As purchasers of a property where Gemma was acting for the seller, we found communication frustrating and, at times, inconsistent with what had been promised. There were repeated requests for updates throughout the process, which we provided wherever possible. However, I was surprised to later hear that Gemma had commented to my selling agent that she needed to contact him because “I went silent” — despite the fact that I returned every call she made and maintained communication throughout the transaction. I fully appreciate that real estate agents have a responsibility to represent their clients’ interests, but professionalism, transparency and keeping your word are equally important. Unfortunately, based on our experience, these expectations were not met. Sadly, we also feel aspects of the property were misrepresented during the sales process. Since taking possession, we have identified issues that will now require rectification at our own expense. Had these matters been disclosed or accurately represented from the outset, it would have influenced our understanding of the property and the costs involved. While I understand that real estate is a commission-based industry, throughout this transaction I was left with the impression that securing the sale was the priority, rather than ensuring a positive experience for all parties involved. Customer satisfaction and long-term relationships are just as important as achieving a result, and unfortunately that was not reflected in our experience. Purchasing a property is already a stressful process, and this experience added unnecessary frustration. While others may have had different experiences, ours was disappointing.
