Herbie Frey from Harcourts Property Hub was one of the most unprofessional agents I've ever dealt with. After signing the contract 30 days before settlement, we tried booking the final inspection where Herbie didn't allow us to visit the property until the day of settlement. This raised red flags. When we did inspect the property, it was a complete mess with damage and rubbish everywhere. Herbie was difficult to communicate with, threatened to 'cancel the sale' if we didn't accept the the property in the condition it was in. He continued to mention multiple times to us that there were a large number of buyers interested in buying the property in the condition it was in and that we must proceed with settlement to avoid losing the sale. Amongst this a reasonable request was made to Herbie and the sellers to have the mountain of rubbish removed from the property prior to settlement, this did not occur and caused multiple delays to settlement of which Herbie never communicated to us why this request could not be done. Herbie never once showed up at any of the final inspections or to directly liaise with me or my buyers agent to rectify the numerous problems. In my 40 years of buying/selling/moving house (which I have done close to a dozen times), this has been the most unpleasant experience of my life. Something which is meant to be an exciting and joyful experience was met with disdain, regret, sadness and exasperation. We hope that any future buyers/sellers of their property in the Gold Coast region never have to face this level of unprofessionalism and deceit and that this feedback is set as an overt warning to anyone and everyone in the property business.
