I initially contacted James Burke regarding a property coming up for auction on Johnston Street in Annandale.
And even though the property would have been considered an entirely uninhabitable, POS by even the least discerning individual; and though it boasted features such as; “load-bearing wallpaper” and “simultaneous and entirely uninterrupted views of both sky and ground” (because it lacked both roof and floor). We were informed by James, in the kindest and most respectful manner possible, that the property was WAY, WAY, WAY out of our price range. And guess what? He was right! Ha!
We sat at our kitchen table and talked for a long time about what we wanted and what we needed to accomplish in the near future with our growing family. He made notes; smiled graciously, made a few suggestions here and there; all the while as our pets systematically “courted” him.
We subsequently decided to sell our home and sign with Callaghers; not knowing that it would be the very best decision we had made all year. Within two hours of signing our paperwork I was texting James and asking him if he had sold our home yet. (I suppose it is at this point that I should admit that I have the ability to be a bit of a nightmare.)
Throughout the four-week campaign I grew increasingly nervous as I witnessed the market changing. I found sleep almost impossible to come by, and panic in absolute abundance. Being generous by nature, I shared my concern and panic attacks with James at regular and fairly consistent intervals. Without blowing smoke up my chimney, both he and David Giezekamp managed to keep me from requiring a straight jacket by providing factual evidence and continually keeping me updated on all things concerning the sale of our home.
Without fail they would reassure me that they had us heading in the right direction and that the trajectory would bring a result
