This sale was a case of it was meant to be....for us. I went through the property during the auction campaign in November 2018. I spoke to the agent about my connection with the street and discussed settlement terms (many sales alerts here). My husband went through the property on his way home from work the following week, which you would think a connection would be made with my previous inspection. We did not receive a follow up phone call regarding our inspection, so thought, if it’s meant to be it will be. We didn’t go to the Auction, because, well, there was no enthusiasm. We kept an eye on the property over summer and upon our return to Melbourne in February, we went through the property again. Knowing we probably wouldn’t be followed up, we decided to take the lead and put in an offer on Saturday afternoon. I was contacted later that day to see if I would sign the offer on a contract, to which I said yes. I was then asked to go to the agents sales office (a bit out of my way, especially in peak hour traffic) on Monday to sign the contract. I then had to return to their office later that day to sign off on the counter offer. The following day, I had to go to the office and drop off a bank cheque - Not much out of the way effort made from the agent to make this sale. After the cooling off period had lapsed, I contacted the agent to ask when the sale sticker would be on, so we could take a photo. The response “there is one in my office if you want to come and collect it and put it up!” Really! This property was on the market for a very long time and you would think the agents would be itching to put up that sold sticker! Through to settlement we were never offered a final inspection and when collecting the keys, my husband walked into the office, didn’t give his name, just mentioned that he was collecting keys for this property which was not in his name and the keys were handed over without ID to a property that he doesn’t own! Shocking on many levels!

James was very professional, displayed strong market knowledge and was was very pro-active in managing the sale of our investment property. James and the Biggin and Scott property management team brought a difficult property up to scratch and ensured we received a good price. Very happy with the service.
