James was the seller's agent but we genuinely felt that he was representing our interests too. He is clearly highly skilled, and even more importantly (from our perspective) has a very collaborative and transparent approach. When we hit an obstacle with finance he provided direct, calm, and non-intrusive advice and assistance at the critical time. The office support was excellent too. We might not have been able to settle if a different agent had been handling this, and we will always be grateful to James.

James is without a doubt the most professional real estate agent I have worked with. Back in 2010, I viewed a property James had listed. The property wasn't for me, however he proactively contacted me a few weeks later with another property similar to what I was looking for, which was listed with another agent. He arranged for me to view and I subsequently purchased it, all with his assistance. I rented the property out some 4 years later and Bourke's handled this for me. James has kept in touch over the years and I didn't hesitate to contact him when the time was right to sell this property. Listing to offer took less than 2 weeks and the service James provided during this time and over the last 9 years has been second to none. James knows Como and knows his stuff. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him.

We live in the country, 400k from Perth. All contact with James or his team was by phone or email. He was able to achieve a fair price for our townhouse in Como in a buyers market. I was impressed with how he went about the listing and selling of our property and would certainly recommend him.

We listed our Axford Street property in Como WA with James Thompson and Bourke's Real-Estate at the worst possible time, whilst the WA housing market was still falling and the interest from buyers was at it's lowest level, but that was a decision that I made, because I believed that if the property looks great, the price is realistic and the area is a popular one, then the market will still move a property even if it is a little slow. James supported our decision and planned an excellent marketing program and kept us buoyant and optimistic during the process of selling. It took a little while, but with James's support and regular communication we had the most enjoyable experience that anyone could hope for and we actually achieved a price a little over our expectation, which was as far as we were concerned, great work from James and the Bourke's team. James and Kirsten did and excellent job in every possible way, their manners, outlook, and demeanor was positive, extremely supportive and even good fun along every step of the way. There is no way I could not or just would not recommend James, Kirsten and Bourke's Real-estate in any way and we are so appreciative of the pleasure we enjoyed with the best agents and agency, during what is considered to be one of the most stressful times for most people, but definitely not for us!!... Our experience with James was all good until we signed the contract. It appears James has taken on too many properties and on multiple occasions did not return calls or reply to emails rather preferring to let his efficient PA deal with everything. He offered to have the house cleaned before we moved in as a "gift" - did not happen, then called on settlement to say he wants to drop around a "gift" the next day - did not happen. Never expected anything from him but don’t like when people say they are going to do something and do not follow through at all. Yes we were the buyer and he was not working for us but he has definitely lost a future client in us.

James dedication and professionalism was there through the process of selling of our house. He always kept us informed.We find him as a very persistant,punctual and hard working sales agent. Great job James! If we need sales agent in the future,this is definitely going to be James. Highly recommended.
