Born and bred in Hobart, John Fraser made the jump to the mainland to follow his desire for a career in real estate. He first studied Property Development at Deakin University, before enrolling to complete his Agent's Licence while working in the Bayside property market. Making the move, taking up the study and, getting into the work are typical of this energetic young agent, who has already developed a reputation for tenacity and hard work that would make more seasoned agents envious.
"Moving cities at a young age brings a unique perspective," says John. "The stakes are higher and the need to prove myself is greater." Driven by a strong desire to succeed, John takes a high-integrity, no-nonsense approach to listings and sales. " It's important that everyone is on the same page as we move forward with a sale. That means being honest and open at every stage. It's my job to ensure that vendors have realistic price expectations, and that potential buyers can see the true value in the property. Once a buyer starts to see how the benefits of a property convert into real value, we're on the road to a successful sale."
It's here that John's "never-say-die" approach is most valuable. "I'm never inclined to accept no for an answer. There's always one more benefit to show and one more point to be made to help the buyer understand the value." Whether before auction, on the day, or around the negotiating table, John's perseverance does pay off!
Drawn to Melbourne by the idea of a life in real estate, John says he has, in fact, found a lifestyle instead. "Maintaining a real estate focus just comes naturally. It's at the centre of most conversations, it's central to many media discussions, and it's a particularly hot topic amongst residents," he says. "Working in real estate, requires such a level of commitment that if you don't make it your life you might as well just go home!"
