We initially put our apartment for sale with another agency but as they were not achieving any results, I told them that we would be changing to Harcourts. I chose Harcourts because I had met Janet McNeil previously and Harcourts have a strong presence on Main Street. I was disappointed that Janet was no longer working for the company but agreed to being represented by Kara. She turned out to be excellent: hard working, very professional and good on communication. I was particularly impressed when she turned up at our place at 6pm one Saturday to discuss an offer when I think most agents would be home with their feet up and a glass of something cold. The offer made for our property was significantly more than we had expected and was at least partly due to Kara's negotiating skills. It was a very welcome suprise. Well done Kara and thank you.

We contacted several estate agents when we decided to sell our home this year and most came back with the same reply...."Only a developer would be interested in your property, it should sell for between $700,000 and $720,000". Then we contacted Kara James. We had already purchased a property, which she was aware of, so she knew that we needed to sell asap. We informed her our asking price was $720,000 and we were negotiable. Kara appraised our property and after spending time with us, convinced us to trust her and follow her advice. We did just that, and we could not be happier. Kara advised us to spruce up our property, paint a few rooms (which were very well worn), tidy the gardens and de-clutter inside. We trusted the marketing campaign to Kara and she was forthcoming and upfront about everything she did. Within a week, we had an offer $30,000 over our asking price but Kara was convinced that she could obtain more if we took the property to Auction. Following her advice again, our property was auctioned 3 weeks later and we received $90,000 more than our asking price. We were well aware of the time and effort Kara put in to obtain us the best possible price for our property and we could not possibly be more grateful. I can honestly say that Kara James is the most upfront, honest and trustworthy real estate agent I have dealt with over the past 15 years of buying and selling properties. It is clear to us that Kara works hard for her vendors and takes great satisfaction in being able to obtain the best price possible for the properties she markets.
