An Agent Who Goes Above and Beyond — and Delivers

I can wholeheartedly recommend Lachlan Elder as a selling agent. Lachlan is truly relentless in the best possible way. He is an authority in his field, knows the area and local community extremely well, and brings years of experience — which absolutely shows. But what really sets him apart is how far he goes beyond what you’d normally expect. He worked tirelessly throughout the entire process, was incredibly flexible, consistently helpful, and always friendly and approachable. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble. Most importantly, I felt genuinely safe with Lachlan. For the first time in my life dealing with real estate agents, I honestly felt I could fully trust him and relax about the process, knowing it was being handled properly and with care. And in the end — Lachlan delivered. If you’re looking for a selling agent who combines deep expertise with integrity, commitment, and genuine human care, I couldn’t recommend Lachlan more highly.

Superior market knowledge from an industry veteran

I have no hesitation recommending Lachlan Elder as a selling agent. My property had previously proved difficult to sell. Lachlan came up with a marketing proposal that achieved a result well in excess than any other agent had advised, and this in a softening market. I was so satisfied that I again instructed him to market another property just 2 months later. I have every confidence in his superior market knowledge and negotiation skills.

Lachlan's Enthusiasm get Buyers and Sellers

Lachlan is a great agent and he has a positiv attitude and even as after a setback, he just does not stop trying. Great communication and you can ring him at 10 at night or at 5 in the morning, he is ready to talk and listen to you. He is surrounded by some very efficient and supportive staff. Lachlan goes the "extra mile” and buyer and sellers appreciate that you try to get the Job done.

Proactive, Professional and Positive

Lachlan Elder and Josephine Cowling from LJ Hooker Mona Vale took on the job of selling our house at Bungan Beach. From the out set Lachlan was refreshingly realistic and honest about what the property was worth in the current market climate. Through a mixture of private viewings and open days both Josephine and Lachlan handled the whole process with proactiveness professionalism and positivity. Within an hour of every inspection Lachlan sent us a report on who had come through and whether they were serious prospects or not. Throughout the whole process they patiently answered all of my concerns and questions ( of which there were many!) It made the experience infinitely easier than I had anticipated. I would not hesitate to use them again.

Excellent communicator

We attempted to sell our offshore Pittwater house 3-4 times after vacillating terribly we withdrew it from sale each time. Despite the inconvenience and dissapointment Lachlan was understanding, composed and professional. We've now sold the house with enormous thanks to our excellent agent and cannot recommend him highly enough. We know of other offshore agents who take people through a house without reporting who those people were, give false information just to make the sale and in our experience, are generally tardy and dishonest. It's a huge effort selling offshore property - there are boats and pickups, an offshore agent can be used as a 'tour guide' at times. Lachlan never failed to follow up on potential buyers and went to enormous lengths to show our house. His reporting system is thorough and constantly updated, usually on the same day as the open. His comments are insightful and a testament to his many years of real estate experience. Thanks again for all your assistance in selling our house and your ongoing patience with us Lachlan, we really appreciated your extensive efforts.

The Perfect Sale

My experience with Lachlan from LJ Hooker Mona Vale has been first class. As a real estate novice Lachlan was very helpful in not only finding the right buyers but giving invaluable guidance so that we can make the right decision. Great agent!

My husband and I found Lachlan extremely helpful during our 12 month search for the right property. He was happy to accommodate our time restrictions regarding house inspections and kept us well informed of the market and then the sales process once our offer had been accepted. His knowledge of the Pittwater area, where we were looking, is excellent and from our experience Lachlan works very hard to satisfy both vendor and buyer. We also enjoyed his company as he has a great sense of humour!

Lachlan Elder. By any measure the most effective, hardest working Agent to represent us.

There's saying in owner land. "Name your price and stick to it. No matter what". I have always been of that belief. Sometimes to my advantage...sometimes not. Ego or self belief? Vendors have this conviction that a high price, protects against buyers who invariably beat you down. Wait long enough and you will get your price. We ignore the reality that in the majority of cases the market determines price. Today's buyers are savvy. They know exactly where the market is. Armed with a smart phone you can tell the entire selling history of a property. Time to market. The latter is the key element. Hang around too long and buyers start asking, why has it taken so long to sell? Is there something wrong?.. The longer you remain unsold the greater the pressure to lower the price. Add on holding costs, mortgage etc and the damage can be significant. Most agents will not tell you this. They want listings and go along with the vendor. By the time they point out the market reality it's too late. Price falls, the vendor looses patience and money. Lachlan Elder, Principal LJ Hookers Monavale, was one of only two agents to outline the facts. Over a coffee he counselled us to meet the market, get on with life. Offers came in and we sold at our new asking price. No haggling. The other mistakes vendors make at their peril, is rapid fire change of agents. Or entering unrealistic, lengthy exclusive agreements with agents who refuse to cojunct. Remember agents are human and can hurt. They can also hit back. Market gossip is damaging to the property's saleability. In the end go with experience, local knowledge and results. High negotiating skills and ability to close the deal. And strong ethics. Ask around. You'll quickly sort out the best. Lachlan Elder never gives up. Ethical, hard working and professional. Ten out of ten.
