This was first time we had sold a property at auction and it was imperative we got it right. We chose Gary Peer because we felt Caulfield was their patch. Fortunately for the sellers, we fell in love with the property-it was not due to agents informing of us of property features or guiding us to make it an easy process. As first time buyers at an auction, we were looking for guidance from the agent as we thought they would be the best person to advice us of the process. We asked after the first property viewing if we could put an offer to the vendor prior to auction and were told a flat no, we weren't even asked an offering price to tak to the vendor (just prior to auction we were told by Limor someone else had put in an offer prior to auction and the vendor was prepared to hear what it was but the buyer never ended up putting in the offer-why didn't we ever get asked the price we wanted to offer prior to auction if they were willing to take other peoples offers? Three agents for the property-Limor, Nikki and Dimitri. Dimitri was honest and we would contact him in the future to see where his career has progressed should we ever look to sell but we would definitely shop around as "buyers" first as if the agents don't seem to care about the buyers then we don't want to give them our business. We met Nikki at several properties and she had no clue who we were every single time and even after we purchased the property, she proceeded to call both of us to see if we were interested in buying the other property we looked at. Absolutely messed around as to holding deposits on the day-got three different answers from Limor resulting in us transferring $15k unecessarilly. Were rushed through the signing process after sale and when we asked Limor to ensure we are provided all keys etc at settlement she gave us a short response along the lines of whatever she's given by the vendors-of course I responded that I thought it would be the agents job to ask for letterbox, widow doors etc-as it turns out, not all keys were provided so another cost to us. Love the property, just a shame we felt completely irrelevant in our purchase.
