Awful agent and traumatic experience. Please avoid!

There were errors at every step of the campaign that created an unnecessarily stressful experience and ultimately a very disappointing outcome. We had an offer early on we wanted to accept and Lisette actively steered us away from it and pushed us to auction providing incorrect information repeatedly about implications for accepting the offer e.g. that all open homes would have to be cancelled immediately if we accepted an offer and therefore ruining chances of selling at auction later if it fell through. Lisette is better at marketing herself and her accolades as '#1 auction agent' than she is at actually marketing your property. We felt as though we had 'no choice' but to go to auction based on Lisettes advice and ended up selling for close to $100,000 less than the offer we had received prior and wanted to take. Definitely more interested in maintaining her auction statistics to market herself than get the best outcome for sellers. The impact this experience has had on us has been truly devastating. There were then errors in the contract from the auction where wording was put in it by Lisettes team that I had not seen or approved that was written so poorly it threatened causing the contract to fall over. When I urgently highlighted this I was met with a rude and defensive email full of screenshots from conversations that still ultimately showed they had not shown me the wording for approval. The agency owner had to step in to oversee correcting the issues and Lisette promptly left the agency including all of her active listings at the time. I could not be more disappointed in Lisettes performance as our agent in the sale of this property and her lack of remorse for harm done. I truly hope people read these reviews and run so they don't fall prey to the same type of behaviour.

Excellent first home buying experience

My partner and I were very pleased with our experience from start to finish. As first home buyers Lisette and her team were helpful, professional and genuine throughout the entire journey.

Auction process worked well for the agent, but not the sellers

Lisette and her team are a pleasure to deal with and did a fabulous job organising trades- people etc to prepare and present the property very well, conducting the open house inspections, following people up, documenting what they found and sending us their information through a link. Communication was excellent. BUT: they gave us what appeared to be very persuasive reasons why we should auction the property rather than selling in the normal process – ignoring the fact that the market had turned – Brisbane auction clearance rates (I later researched) had been about 40% two months before our sale and only 31% in the month of our sale. Additionally, this was not a luxury property. The auction process only resulted in a sale price that was 26% through the Pricefinder estimate range for our property and on reflection worked brilliantly for the agency but poorly us. Their orientation to the auction process might have been further reinforced by the concept of a “kicker” commission that they floated to us: that being (in the standard documentation that we received) that the agency would get 30% of any price over a certain level (to be nominated by us). This was optional and we did not agree to it, however how could agents imagine that it would be reasonable to give away 10, 20 or 30% of the price, when, if the market was hot, you would need all of your sale price to be able to get back into the market! So if I had done the research about auction clearance rates there’s no way we’d have gone to auction. I think that cost us somewhere between 5 to 10% of the potential sale price, and if we had achieved that extra 10% we would only have been about 60% through the Pricefinder range for our house, so still well below the top! An extended family member who works in Real Estate in South East Qld passed the comment to one of my sisters-in-law that “This is not the time to go to auction in Brisbane“ Which was then reported to us unsolicited, after the auction had taken place.

Very professional

Lisette and her team were very professional from start to finish. Even though we didn’t sell at Auction their efforts came through with a sale in the end. We would highly recommend the Lisette team for anyone looking to sell their property.

Exceptional communication

We had the pleasure of working with Lisette and her team, and was very happy with the experience. From the start, Lisette was incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and attentive to our needs. Lisette & Shay provided expert guidance throughout the entire selling process and made sure we were informed at every step. With their hard work, our unit was sold for a good price in a changing market. Their communication during the process was exceptional, keeping us updated regularly.
