My wife and I recently purchased Apartment 6H at Convesso in Docklands, with Lyle Dean of Barry Plant Docklands acting as agent for the vendor. We reside in Western Victoria, and this purchase was our first venture into the Melbourne market. We were very impressed with Lyle's conduct of this private sale. He remained true to his client, but understood our needs and the reasons for our purchase. We paid a price that was not forced upon us, but which eventuated from non-stressful negotiations with Lyle. We had certain essential requests, particularly in relation to early settlement and possession, and Lyle was innovative in accommodating and complying with our requests. Throughout negotiations Lyle was helpful, upbeat, enthusiastic and efficient, and related well to us (as we did to him). Following our purchase Lyle did not close his file and wave us away, but has performed some favours for us since that time. Lyle's office is in Docklands, and he knows the area very well. He is a highly experienced and efficient agent.

We made an appointment with Lyle from home in NSW, but on the day in Melbourne got mixed up with another agent also working in the same building. Despite the inauspicious start Lyle handled things very well and in the end we actually bought the apartment we came to see. Right through Lyle kept us up to date with progress and had ready solutions for our long distance negotiation problems. Altogether a relatively pleasant experience.

The sale was almost lost because the vendor was overseas and not responding, actually it had fallen through however Lyle persisted and since another agency sold from underneath me the final sale was still available.
