I have dealt with Matt Hawkins as a buyer and a seller, and have found him in both instances to be honest, very knowledgeable of the market and easy to deal with. I will start this review by saying that I cannot recommend Matt highly enough. His hard work, persistence and knowledge of the market lead to a result beyond my expectations. I will follow with my journey with Matt. As an interstate investor I used a real estate consultant to interview 4 different agents. After the interviews the consultant provided his recommendation with Matt as the clear favourite. Upon being appointed as my agent, Matt provided recommendations on pricing and a sale strategy. It was recommended as part of the strategy that if the house had some minor renovations completed (painting, floors and gardens) I would be able to extract a further premium from the process. Through the renovation process Matt was extremely helpful with providing recommendations on works and introducing reliable trades (shout out to Glen from GR Maintenance). Once the house was completed we agreed on a final price and Matt took the property to the market. During the campaign Matt was consistent with his updates on interested parties as well as kept me up to date with market activity (sales or new listings in the area). Whilst the campaign didn't go as smooth as hoped (3 interest rate rises during the campaign and months of rain leading into winter), Matt remained confident about the price he had recommended and persisted with pushing the property out to buyers. This approach had impressed me as most agents would have taken the easier road and asked for a price reduction if they hadn't found a buyer within the first few weeks. In the end Matt achieved the price that we agreed on (which was above what I was expecting to sell for) and I am over the moon with the result. There is no doubt in my mind that it was Matt's deep knowledge of the market and patience throughout the process were the factors that achieved this result. I am extremely thankful for Matt's hard work over the campaign and would highly recommend him to any owner looking to sell their property.
