We'd done a LOT of research of our area, and who the big agents were. But numbers only say so-much. It's the biggest investment of our life, so we interviewed 7 different agents, and asked a lot of questions. Different genders, cultures, styles. Some were living in the 50's, playing stupid games, and even openly ignorant about our multicultural neighbourhood & potential buyers. Others were very slick & modern. Matt was the top of that group. He was well presented, knew his market, and was very straightforward. No games, or bs numbers to bait us. We felt we had an experienced professional in our corner, and would be the perfect agent not-only for us, but for any potential buyers. He knew our area & neighborhood like we did. The listing & sale went exactly as he advised. COVID19 made the buyer's employment & finance fall through. But Matt didn't miss a beat, and his strengths were even clearer. Despite a tough & constantly evolving situation. Through the whole process, he communicated well & often, advised us & we worked together on plans. We got another excellent offer, and Matt got it over the line. We never felt stressed or concerned, and Matt was upbeat & professional from start to finish. Meanwhile, most listings in the streets nearby started before us, and they're still unsold 90+ days. We made the right choice, and could not have expected any better. I interviewed 4 separate agents from the Cranbourne area. All except Matt came into my house and wanted to review the property to get an idea of value and selling range. When Matt came in, he wanted to sit down and discuss what my plans/goals were for the property and where I was wanting to move onto. That's the difference. To be honest I even kicked one of the agents out due to being so smug *cough* Obrian *cough*. Matt was completely different by trying to help me get what I wanted and not lining his pockets with commission.
