We'd been looking in the area for 4 months so knew exactly what we were after and had a good idea of value. Upon first meeting Matthew at this house he was friendly and welcomed us in to view before the allocated time which we really appreciated. However when we were interested and wanted a contract put together, he questioned why we wanted a solicitor involved (a must when buying a house). From then we were apprehensive, something didn't feel right. We never quite worked it out, but went through with the sale because the house was the right fit for us. Sometimes I would send an email (due to the nature of my work) that just required a quick reply, but he'd return with a phone call which was frustrating and not needed. We also can't work out if he and his wife pretended to not know some things about the house, or did not know these things. However in the end we got the house we wanted. I've got no doubt Matthew is a friendly fellow, his style just wasn't to our liking and we struggled to warm to him because of this.
We bought a property from Matthew which there was no fault and he was quick to action in getting the sale done. The only other experience which didn't work in our favor and caused some delays was we wanted to obtain quotes before entering the new property to get a head start which was proven to be difficult which we are uncertain if that was the owners decision or the agent.
Matt had really good knowledge of the our local area. He was very professional in his dealings with us and very transparent in his communication. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend Matt to anybody looking to sell their property.
