Matthew Wykes was born and raised in Canberra. He attended St Francis Xavier College in Florey, graduating Year 12 in 2003. After school he dived straight into the workforce; first doing selling for ACTTAB, then becoming a croupier at Casino Canberra.
In both jobs, Matthew developed new skills and found that he thrived in such a high pressure environment, discovering that he had a real knack with people. After 6 years at the casino, and after rising through the ranks to supervisor level, Matthew decided to put his skills to other uses. Using techniques developed through years of working with people and going above and beyond in all areas of customer service, he joined the award winning team at Independent Property Group.
In his years working in real estate, he understands the stresses and challenges of buying and selling property. He believes that his role is to find out what people want and to help them achieve it. When dealing with a client's biggest asset, he sees that care, finesse and diligence are needed, as well as strength of character, perseverance and a never say die attitude to achieve the best result for all involved.
