My wife and I waited a while to recover from the “professional’s” experience but after a couple of months of reflection things haven’t got any better … Some of the more memorable quotes from our experience : “We have buyers on the books for property just like this” went to “I phone, I text, I email – I can’t help it if they don’t get back to me” “We had three groups through for inspection” - when the contact/appointment book left behind showed no visitors that day “We have put out another 4,000 leaflets in the local area” - but friends 3 streets away never got any at any time “F --- off” – female sales agent to competing agent in front of crowd on scheduled auction day – very “Professional” (not). “Quick sales campaign is best – if they are interested they might not hang around for a longer campaign…” - went to: “Auction won’t go ahead today … not enough people here ready to buy” (first inkling of auction not proceeding given 5 minutes before scheduled time). “ You don’t need (open house) signs out the front as well –we put them on the corner” ... when all that did was send people up the street to the other open houses with signs out the front indicating they were “Open” – Duh! “Oh, you saw that ” – when the scheduled Open house time was removed from the internet on the day of a scheduled Sat. morning open house “ You have to understand, you have to accept this offer now” from female sales staff – increased by $30+k in 2 days. Personal favourites “If we can’t sell this we should give the game away” (Michael, on first inspection)- went to “we f-ed up a bit, but we got there in the end” (Simon, as we moved out). They reckon selling a house is one of life’s most stressful experiences. My wife and I dealt with the Professionals at Punchbowl and believe it.
