Would certainly recommend with some minor reservations.
Peter was enthusiastic and takes a lot of professional pride in his work. However, I have two reservations in recommending Peter and they are reflected in my ratings above.
Although both are minor, they are worth noting and keeping in mind when negotiating a selling agency agreement.
Basis of my Rating on Market Knowledge - Peter estimated the property's selling price range at $320,000 to $330,000. I do not live in the area but after personally reviewing recent local sales I felt that his estimate was too low. After some discussion we agreed to list the property for $345,000. The property sold for $360,000. I appreciate that vendors expectations are not always realistic and the vagaries of the market can be difficult to predict. However, Peter was too conservative in his estimate.
Basis of my Rating on Negotiating - When I obtained a number of quotes for selecting an agent, Peter quoted me 2.5% commission. However, when I went to his office to sign the agreement the commission amount was 2.75%. When I queried this Peter pointed out that his quote was GST exclusive and I accept responsibility for overlooking the 'small print'. Although this is a very minor issue, when I checked a number of other quotes I had obtained they were all GST inclusive.
